Legal Question
Ok this doesn't make sense to me. First, you'll want to read this article. I'll sum it up for the benefit of the lazy. A girl in Britain is being fined a hefty sum of money for illegally downloading music. Her mother was going to hire a lawyer to fight the case, stating that "They (the BPI) should have sent something to saying 'If you keep doing this we will fine you' - they should have sent a warning first."
So here is the part that confuses me. Downloading music is illegal, correct? The fact that she is being fined for doing it leads me to believe it's true. So, couldn't you make the comparison that warnings should apply to all crimes? 'We'll let you go this time, but if you keep shooting people, we'll be forced to fine you, so you better watch it.'
It's no real surprise to me that the mother decided not to go through with fighting the case.
